The University Grants Commission (UGC) in India offers financial support for students conducting research for their Ph.D. or M.Phil. degrees through the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Students must pass the UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET exam and hold a master's degree in order to be eligible for this fellowship. A monthly stipend, funds for research expenses, and occasionally housing assistance are provided by the fellowship. As long as the student is making significant progress with their research, it usually lasts up to five years.
The Indian government of West Bengal launched the Kanyashree Prakalpa program to assist females in finishing school and constructing better futures. It helps girls from low-income homes financially.
The Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana aims to offer financial support to students from economically disadvantaged families.
