A UNEXCEEDING LEGACY
NMIMS, which had modest beginnings in 1981, has developed into a renowned university on a global scale. To satisfy the nation's rising need for management institutes, the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), which has always been socially conscious, made the decision. As a result, the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) was created. Starting out simply, it provided a two-year full-time master's degree in management studies above Bhaidas Hall in Vile Parle (West), Mumbai, with an enrollment of 40 students, four full-time faculty members, and 3162 volumes.
CHANGE AND GROWTH
The NMIMS relocated from the Bhaidas Auditorium, where it had been temporarily housed, to a huge building with over 5,50,000 square feet, where it currently acts as a landmark in the Vile Parle neighbourhood, an affluent area of the city, in the centre of Mumbai.
NMIMS is presently a Deemed to be University with several campuses offering a range of topics, all of which were built upon this insightful basis. What began as an institute in a tiny facility has drawn interest from all around the world because of their 17 specialised schools. More than 17000 students attend the most prestigious academic institution in India, which also includes 750 full-time faculty members and 10 professors who have been awarded Fulbright and Humboldt International Scholarships for post-doctoral researchers. As a result of its continuous academic quality, concentration on research, instructors who come from esteemed national and international universities, and strong industry linkages, NMIMS is today one of the top centres for academic excellence and research in the nation.
