MCKV Institute of Engineering, one of West Bengal's top engineering colleges, was established in 1999 with the intention of encouraging the spirit of technology learning and its application by offering the best setting and chances for educating young minds in the digital age. The Institute is an autonomous institution connected with MAKAUT, West Bengal, and has received approval from AICTE in addition to NAAC accreditation with a "A" grade.It offers courses in both fundamental and applied engineering in disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, and last but not least, automobile engineering, a highly specialised field of study some of which are accredited by NBA. For students who have been in higher education for more than 10 years, M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (with an emphasis on Communication) is also available.

The curricula for the three new B.Tech courses—CSE (Data Science), EC (VLSI Design), and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML)—as well as the PG course in management, MBA (Business Analytics)—have been developed by MCKVIE to meet the industry's changing needs.This was accomplished with the assurance of her stellar track record and with autonomy's backing.
