Regarding Location and Facilities
The Sambalpur University and famous Medical and Engineering University are located at the Jyoti Vihar, Burla, an educational complex surrounded by hills and rivers that also houses the temporary campus of IIM Sambalpur. The town is quite scenic and close to nature thanks to the temporary campus's location in Barapahad (Twelve Hills), which is flanked by mountains, thick woods, and the Debrigarh wildlife sanctuary. The temporary campus is situated at one end of the world's longest earthen dam, Hirakud Dam. Sambalpur is one of the three railway divisions in Indian Railways' East Coast Railway zone.
