Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a spiritual community of monks and caring and compassionate workers dedicated to the service of humanity for over 100 years. The Sangha is well known for its disaster response work at the time of environmental disasters like floods, food shortages, and earthquakes, along with various types of welfare schemes in the fields of health-care, education, and cultural, socio-cultural, moral, and spiritual advancement. It is important to note that the Sangha has been recognised as "an Institution of National Importance" by the Indian government.
The Bharat Sevashram Sangha was founded by Acharya Shreemat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj, one of India's greatest nationalist saints. He was Lord Shiva in human form. His principles of giving up everything for others and providing selfless service to others continue to direct the Sangha's wide range of charitable endeavours.
The total estimated cost of the project for the first and second phases of the hospital will be around Rs. 250 crores. The hospital is situated at the intersection between an urban neighbourhood in the southern portion of Kolkata city and a quiet and peaceful, pollution-free rural area in the south of 24 Parganas, which has few medical facilities. The hospital's land area, which is located on Diamond Harbour Road, is approximately 9 acres.
This hospital's major goal is to provide advanced and modern medical technology for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation under one roof for the less fortunate members of society, regardless of caste, religion, or colour.
