In the era of Global competition, the employment market is becoming increasingly competitive for new diploma holders, graduates and post graduates as greater numbers of students are opting for technical and professional programmes. At AGI we believe in producing professional engineers, commerce & management professionals, computer application professionals, hotel management professional, pharmacy professionals and educationist, who are enriched with globally accepted professional standards and have the fundamentals that will make them a professional for life and not just prepare our students for one industry or one organization or for only the first job.
At Amrapali Group of Institute we have a full fledged Central Training and Placement Department (CTPD). The CTPD at present as two sections, one looking at training and Placement of Engineering &Technology, Computer Applications, Commerce and Business Management and Pharmacy programmes and the other is looking after the Hospitality and Catering programmes.
CTPD in coordination with respective Directors and Principals is committed towards bridging the academic industry gap and seek the corporate sector cooperation in developing better professionals to meet today and tomorrow’s corporate needs.

 

CTPD Objectives
The objective of the Centralised Training & Placement Department (CTPD) is to work with coordination of respective faculty of group to help students in clarifying their career goals as well as acquire technical and generic skills and ultimately to make them job fit and convert desired employment opportunity into placement offer.

 

 

CTPD Vision
To create a niche environment for excellence in Training, Placement and Career Orientation and assist students in identifying, developing, evaluating and achieving their career goals.

 

 

The Process
The training and development is an important process in life span of a student undergoing Higher Education and at AGI this process had been developed in such a manner that it not only balances theoretical and practical skills but also focuses on developing the core technical and soft skills essential for today's professional world. Industry Institute Interface (Tripple I)
 

Effective interaction and communication between AGI and Industry for the mutual benefit, is taken up as need of the hour. This helps the students to learn in a healthy environment with vast industrial exposure and subsequently in placement of these young and talented graduating students all around the globe.

The CTPD of AGI has started an ambitious Triple “I” Programme (Industry-Institute Interface Programme) which:

  • Focuses on enhanced industry academia interaction, providing benefits to all three communities - Industry, Institute, Students.
  • The teaching pedagogy in various programmes incorporates learning through extensive Industry Academia Interface along with various competitions and events, and special training programmes for making a graduate degree holder an employable professional.

Brief Insight to few activities at CTPD
In campus Training
AGI has signed MOU’s with various companies to have an expert pool ready for training students during their academic schedules. These trainings not only empower them with variety of technical skill sets but boost their confidence level too.

Pre Placement Talks
HR managers form diverse spectrum are invited to the campus to have talks and discussion sessions with students, this helps them to have insight of what is expected from them at the time of campus placement drives.

Expert Sessions and Visiting Lectures
CTPD organizes series of expert sessions and various experts from Industry and senior professors are invited to the campus as visiting lecturers during the 3rd and 4th year of their study. Such series familiarize the students and the faculty with the new skill sets and latest domain specific knowledge that it beyond the routine academic activities.

 

Campus placement drives are organized by inviting various companies for the placements of the students for jobs. The CTPD also encourages students to have their pre assessment done through online testing software’s. The students not only get ample opportunities through on campus drives but are also provided multiple off campus opportunities too.

 

Internships and Industrial Training
During course Internships and Training is the integral part of the various programmes at AGI it provides students with an opportunity to get themselves exposed to real world challenges and real industry operations. Internships and Industrial trainings are provided at various industries varying from 6 to 22 weeks and under supervision and guidance of respective industry personnel. The faculty mentors carries out monitoring and evaluation regularly.

 

 

Industrial Exposure Tour
Industrial Exposure Tours are very important for students and at AGI students during their 1st or 2nd year of academics are provided with the opportunity to the relevant industries at various locations. These tours provide students with the exposure to understand the operational practices and which they can then correlate with applications of theoretical aspects of their study.

 

 

Student Projects
CTPD coordinates both with In house faculty and Industrial counterparts to assist students in preparing the projects reflecting the needs and problems of the industry. Institute faculty interacts with industry personnel for successful implementation of such projects.

 

 

Career Orientation Programmes
Various Career Orientation Programmes are conducted through CTPD to imbibe within students the much required focus; experts are invited to orient students about industry expectations. Additional workshops and conferences are organised within a calendar year to provide students an opportunity to develop direct interaction with them thus helping them to improve their Personality have Group Discussions and showcase their Presentation Skills.
