INTRODUCTION TO CUET EXAMINATIONS
The Common University Entrance Test is the full form of CUET. One year down the line, in CUET 2023 a total of 249 universities (including 45 central universities) participated and took UG admissions based on the CUET scorecard of the candidates. The number of participating universities is expected to increase significantly in CUET 2024. This whole initiative of CUET has revamped the entire UG admission scenario in the country. The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI), created the National Testing Agency (NTA) as a standalone, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) to conduct efficient, transparent, and international standards tests to assess candidates' competency for admission to premier higher education institutions. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been tasked with conducting the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for Postgraduate (PG) courses in 2022. The Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to various courses at participating Central Universities will give candidates with a single window chance to seek admission in these participating Universities / Institutes across the country.
IMPORTANCE OF NIRF
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, uses the National Institutional Ranking Framework to rate higher education institutions in India. The framework was authorized by the previous Ministry of Human Resource Development and officially released by the Minister on September 29, 2015. The technique is based on the general suggestions and broad understanding reached by a Core Committee established by MHRD to determine broad factors for rating various universities and institutes. The areas of interest include "Teaching, Learning and Resources," "Research and Professional Practices," "Graduation Outcomes," "Outreach and Inclusivity," and Curriculum "Perception".
